Meet Ben Peter, Vice President of Business Development

Meet Ben Peter, PURE’s Vice President of Business Development for EMEA. Ben joined PURE in December 2018 and oversees the strategic growth of PURE’s Africa, Middle East and European markets.

Ben holds a Ph.D. and an MBA in business management and has over fifteen years’ experience in the finance, pharmaceutical, healthcare, international business and direct selling industries.

Given the support from the PURE leadership team, Ben has been able to finalize plans for the opening of the Nigerian and Ghanaian markets. These two markets officially opened on February 1, 2019. Nigeria is a country of almost 200 million people and has an active direct selling industry. Ghana is a country of almost 30 million people with a fast growing and stable direct selling industry.

“We are excited to have Ben join our team,” said Tim Hough. “His broad background on driving profitable results in these markets is unmatched. In the coming weeks we will be announcing potential new markets.”

Ben enjoys playing and coaching basketball. He had two NCAA conference championship rings as a member of a collegiate coaching staff and other international championship rings.  His other hobbies include traveling, computer programming, teaching and volunteering.

Meet Lynn and Sherry Pippen, PURE IBOs

Lynn and Sherry Pippen joined PURE in 2015 after Lynn was approached by a dear friend whom he had served with in the military.

Lynn is a Platinum Director with PURE and a retired U.S. Army Colonel. Sherry is a general dentist and owner of Oak Lane Family Dental Clinic in Mississippi.

The Pippen’s weren’t interested in taking on another business venture, but they saw value in the PURE business. They chose to invest in the company should they decide later to pursue a business.

Physical fitness has always been a big part of their lives. Lynn maintained a high level of physical activity during his tenure in the Army and continued this into his retirement and second career.  However, he had compounded problems with his shoulder, back and knees due to various athletic- and service-related injuries. With the advice of his orthopedic physician, he gave up his love for long-distance running.

Lynn shared his health issues with his new PURE family who then shared the products with him. Lynn started taking the products and subsequently changed his lifestyle. He was able to return to jogging after being told that he would never run again. He beat the odds and ended up competing in eight half marathons and two half ironman triathlons.

Sherry and Lynn have both seen spikes in their energy levels. They “turned back the clock” in many ways. With their confidence in products by PURE, they began sharing them with others, through they were not yet consistent with building their business. They came to value and admire the leadership in their upline who encouraged them to attend a PURE event in Dallas, Texas in October 2017.  After meeting the leaders face-to-face and experiencing the sheer “class” of the company, they decided to get serious about their PURE business.

Lynn says, “Our story isn’t a fast-paced, knock-your-socks-off story of growth straight to the top, but Sherry and I love and believe in PURE.  Our advice to IBOs is to remember the value in what PURE offers and to be resilient in the quest for your business goals.  Latch on to your leadership team and allow them to guide you to victory.  Many say that we’re in the health and wellness industry, but Sherry and I would argue that we’re in the business of improving lives.  As long as that continues to be our goal, rank advancements will come. Above all, our prayer is that people will see us as a light for our savior, Jesus Christ, and a beacon of hope for their health and financial needs.  PURE offers us a chance to share compassion with the masses as we’ve never had before.”

Lynn’s favorite products are GoYin and Organic Sulfur; Sherry likes Metabolic ONE.

PURE IBO John Louch benefits from PURE Detox and DAV

Meet John Louch, PURE Independent Business Owner and a lifetime member of the DAV (Disabled American Veterans).

John joined PURE in September 2018 after being introduced to the company by his brother, Russ Louch. The products seemed great to him, but what really attracted John to PURE was the remarkable dedication from the leadership of those at the highest levels of the organization.

“J.R. Burnett, Chairman Independent Business Owner (IBO), drove from Lubbock, TX to my brother’s house in San Marcos, TX to share PURE,” said John. “What kind of company has people willing to drive hundreds of miles for each other? I knew at that point that I wanted to be a part of this!”

In addition, the inspirational leadership John has received from IBO Lucretia Valle (2018 PURE Heart recipient) and the entire Valle team has been amazing and provides him with the motivation to excel.

John started with the CORE4 products and later participated in the 7-Day Detox program. During his first 7 days on the detox, he lost 11 pounds and felt so good that he continued with the 28-Day Detox. He lost a total of 35 pounds. The products have helped support John’s healthy lifestyle changes.*

John enlisted in the Army in 1990 and served until 2016. He began his career as a combat medic and after several years received a Green to Gold Scholarship. He earned his commission as an Army officer from Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont.

John served as a team leader, platoon leader, company executive officer, detachment executive officer, company commander, detachment commander, battalion logistics officer, brigade planning officer, military transition team executive officer, battalion executive officer and senior military advisor. John was stationed in various locations across the U.S. including Alaska, North Carolina, Texas, Colorado, Washington, Maryland, Kansas, and Washington D.C.

John is most proud of his time serving as a company commander during the initial ground assault into Iraq and as an advisor to foreign governments. He has a wide range of medals and awards from his 25 years on active duty and more than 58 months spent in combat. He is forever grateful for the medics, nurses and surgeons at Landstuhl Army Medical Center in Germany for the care they gave him after being evacuated on multiple occasions.

These days, John spends his time volunteering in his community. He is active with the Good News Club which provides free after-school care and shares the message of Jesus Christ with students. John has helped the Fort Hood Area Habitat for Humanity build several homes dedicated to deserving disabled veterans. He is a member of the Southern Baptist Men’s Disaster Relief and Team Rubicon, a veteran-run disaster management/relief organization.

Follow the Seven Cs to success!

Have you heard of the Seven Cs of Effective Writing? Be clear, coherent, concise, complete, consistent, correct and credible. As a writer, I live by this mantra because I communicate with a wide audience every day.

So why do I bring this up, and what do the Seven Cs have to do with direct selling? Well, as a writer in the direct selling industry, I believe that this same logic can be applied to business builders. In addition to having amazing leadership skills, PURE business builders can achieve success by implementing the seven Cs.

The Seven Cs of Business Building

  1. CLEAR – Being clear means being transparent. For anyone to have a healthy relationship, they need to be able to have others trust and confide in them. Know your ‘Why’ and make sure that what you say is consistent with that ‘Why’. If you truly want to help others, they will sense it and will follow you.
  2. COHERENT – Similar to “clear”, coherent means to be unified, or to create a culture of unity. The PURE family is anchored in a strong foundation. We deliver Whole Health through high-quality products, opportunity, relationships and philanthropy. Build upon that by finding and developing good people. Remember the acronym TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More.
  3. CONCISE – You must be concise in your messages. Communicating briefly yet comprehensively and professionally is highly important. Remember this in every text you send, phone calls you make, with every training meeting you conduct and in every conversation you have with a customer.
  4. COMPLETE – When we’re complete, we’re fulfilled. Fulfillment is something you can achieve with a successful PURE business. By helping others achieve their health and wellness goals, you can fulfill your own goals.
  5. CONSISTENT – It’s important to be consistent and persistent. To be a great leader, your followers must believe that you will not give up on them or on the goal you are working together to achieve. Schedule weekly meetings and stick to them. Consistency creates momentum and success!
  6. CORRECT – You hear it again and again, be a product of the product. If you don’t know your products because you aren’t using them or haven’t even tried them, you can’t share them confidently, or correctly. You certainly don’t want to share incorrect information. You don’t know have to know every answer but know where you can seek out answers. It is better to share the right answer than a quick answer that may be incorrect, which will lead to the next “C” of Credibility.
  7. CREDIBLE – Along with being correct, you want to be believable. People must know, like and trust you before they will do business with you. Sampling is the best way to help your prospects “try it out” and see for themselves what a product can do for them. Once they see the results, they’ll believe in you and the company. And, they’ll be a champion of your business once they see success!

So there you have it. If you can C it, you can do it!

Take these to heart and make 2019 your best year yet!

Meet Mark Kobe, PURE IBO and U.S. Army veteran

The transition from military to civilian life can be difficult, but for Mark Kobe, Independent Business Owner (IBO), the PURE products and opportunity made the transition that much easier.

Mark served in the U.S. Army from 1995-2015, stationed in New York, North Carolina and Maryland, as a Signals Intelligence professional and Spanish linguist. He received the Air Medal and other medals for deployments to Afghanistan, Africa, Bosnia and South America.

Mark is most proud of the time he served with a Special Missions Unit in Maryland. He was one of less than 1% of the total military who was accepted into this unit.

Mark stated, “I had the opportunity to take part in historic missions and work with some true heroes. The places that I got to see, the missions that I was a part of and most importantly the quality of the people that I got to work with will always stay with me as the best time in my military career.”

After retiring, he was employed under the Secretary of Defense. He discovered PURE: People United Reaching Everyone in August 2018.

PURE gave Mark and his wife a vehicle through which they could reach their financial goals and generate residual income for their future. After retiring from the military after a full 20-year career, Mark was starting from scratch at the age of 46. He wanted to add another stream of income to his pension and disability.

“PURE is providing for us, as long as I am willing to put in the time and effort.  As I struggle to understand how to be successful in this line of work, I find that I’m constantly reading books,” said Mark. “I have improved my personal relationship with Christ as I spend hours reading the Bible and have put my PURE business in his hands to support us. Daily Detox and Mila are my wife’s favorite products. My favorite is Organic Sulfur. I have full range of motion in my knees for the first time in a long time and I’m no longer taking glucosamine.”*

Mark decided to forgo his usual workout supplement regime to try PURE’s GPS line of products. After using all six products for three months, Mark noticed results, as did his friends and family whom he exercises with.

Mark stated, “The pre-workout combination of Adapt, Energize and Circulate is unlike any other pre-workout regimen that I have ever used. I don’t get the “shakes” that I would typically get with most pre-workout supplements. GPS Hydrate keeps my energy level high throughout my workout. GPS Rebuild post-workout supplement is awesome; the taste, the mixability, everything is top notch! With Reset, the cycle is complete. The energy it provides is amazing!”*

Mark is a true hero in our eyes. He is living the PURE philosophy by sharing the opportunity and the wonderful benefits of our high-quality products with others. We are blessed to have him as part of the PURE family.

Don’t just make resolutions, achieve them

Welcome to 2019! Are you one of the many Americans who make New Year’s resolutions? Are you successful at achieving them? Research says that more than 50% of people who make New Year’s resolutions generally keep them for the first two weeks, but by the end of the first month that number declines and at six months many people have completely abandoned those resolutions.

Any guesses as to what the number-one New Year’s resolution was in 2018? Losing weight topped the list. How many of you agree and even have it on the top of your resolution list for 2019? I know it has frequently topped my list. Do you wonder how and if you can succeed with your resolution? You can, and I’ll explain.

Dieting versus healthy eating

Losing weight can feel like a never-ending cycle. Sometimes it seems like you try every “diet” plan and workout on the market, but they turn out to be failures. There is a difference between healthy eating and dieting. Dieting makes you hungry. Diets are temporary and often unrealistic.

A philosophy of ours at PURE, called Cleanse, Balance, Build, Focus, teaches that when you give the body what it needs, it will be able to do what it was created to do. In other words, if you feed your body health and wellness, it will provide health and wellness in return. If you feed the body garbage, well, that’s what will come out.

Cleanse, Balance, Build and Focus with CORE4

Begin with a strong foundation. The products in CORE4 help set the stage for optimal wellness. Start by cleansing your body of internal and environmental toxins. Next balance your mood and stress levels. Then, build key nutrients and provide focus and mental well-being.

  • Cleanse your body with HealthTrim® Cleanse. Our world is swarming with toxins. They are in the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat. And, they’re not just physical. We have mental toxins, too. Check out PURE’s Detox Program below.
  • Balance your body with GoYin. Every system in the body strives to maintain status quo. When something is out of balance, our bodies will do what’s necessary to get that balance back. This isn’t just about physical balance, but emotional, mental and spiritual balance, too.
  • Build your body with Daily Build. We must provide our body with the basic nutrients needed to be strong and healthy. Also, one size NEVER fits all. You must find and give your body what it needs to be healthy.
  • Focus with ENERGY. You are doing this for you; not for someone else. You must get healthy for you, and you can do this when you focus.

PURE Detox Program

A way to jump-start the cleanse/detoxification process is to start with the Detox program and then you go into CORE4. Or, if you started with the CORE4 and you are ready to take your detoxing a step further then we recommend participating in PURE’s Detox program. Successful weight loss consists of healthy eating and regular physical activity. Jump-start your journey with a combination of herbs and botanicals that help facilitate the removal of toxins from the body.

Begin with a 7-day detox, or if you desire a deeper detox, continue with the 28-day program for a full body reset. Once you see the difference it makes, you’ll be hooked. This program works because you’re feeding your body plant-based, whole food nutrition. You are eating and creating sustainable habits. You will experience life-changing results

Join Team28 with people who have made the same resolutions as you. Read success stories and frequently asked questions, find delicious, detox-friendly recipes and more. Submit before and after photos to win prizes.

It’s time to get your health back on track and support your weight loss journey. In just one week, you’ll remove harmful toxins, experience better digestion, have more energy, improve your mental clarity, have fewer sugar cravings and see a reduction in body fat.*

This is your year. It’s your time not just to lose the weight, but to become the healthy person you were created to be. Use PURE’s philosophy combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise to lose weight and keep it off. Make that your resolution for 2019.

Weight loss results may vary based on individual users. Products by PURE are designed to be used in conjunction with a sensible diet and regular exercise. Persons interested in using products by PURE or programs to maintain healthy weight should consult with their health care provider prior to beginning any new nutrition and exercise program.
