Apollo 11 — it took a village

For me, it was a weekend of nostalgia watching the National Archives film footage of Apollo 11. Born in 1969, I felt American pride for this most celebrated mission. I had goosebumps experiencing this most celebrated mission while listening to the people who worked Mission Control. I could almost feel their nail-biting and uneasiness during that unprecedented day.

Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins are American icons, as were the hundreds of thousands of people working behind the scenes that made this mission possible. The sheer amount of manpower it took to achieve such a remarkable feat of technological innovation was breathtaking! It really did take a village to support the astronauts and make this moment in history.

Think about your PURE business and what it takes to build your community. There is so much we can learn from the Apollo 11 mission that can be applied to our own personal missions.

Be ambitious — Talk about a strong desire to achieve something! The years of training and planning and learning these astronauts went through could not have happened without an incredible desire, determination and longing to achieve success, and they did! Focus on your dreams. What is your purpose, destiny and legacy? Share the products and opportunity with people in your own backyard. Be hungry and the doors to success will open.

“Don’t merely make a living; make a life. Launch out farther than
you’ve ever gone before.” – Buzz Aldrin

Value teamwork — As Armstrong and Aldrin took those famous first steps, Collins was orbiting the moon waiting for his friends’ return. He was part of the larger effort. Everyone had an important job to do and they all worked in alignment. Anchor your business with a strong foundation. Be that person whom you want to attract. Check in frequently with your team members to offer support, educate them and make sure everything is running smoothly.

“We had hundreds of thousands of people all dedicated to doing the perfect job,
and I think they did about as well as anyone could ever have expected.”
– Neil Armstrong

Have confidence — From takeoff, to the precarious moon landing to re-entry, these astronauts had nerves of steel. They believed in themselves and their ability to succeed. They had confidence in the technology and the people behind them. Dare to believe big! Remember that you are strong and capable. Disbelief is negative power whereas belief is positive power.

“Mars is there, waiting to be reached.” – Buzz Aldrin

Learn from your mistakes — It took the failure of Apollo 1, and other errors, to achieve Apollo 11 success. You will make mistakes, and that’s okay. See a learning opportunity in all things. Be sure to listen to your mentor; they’ve been in your footsteps and have made the mistakes before. They are aware of the situations that can trip you up. Attend UNITE where you’ll get valuable training. As a leader, you can empower your team to make better decisions and become the solutions to the problems.

“I think we’re going to the moon because it’s in the nature of the human being to face challenges. It’s by the nature of his deep inner soul…we’re required to do these things just as salmon swim upstream.” – Neil Armstrong

Planning and Communication. You are in the business of growing and developing the skills of your people. Write down the results you want to achieve. Use the tools you have at your disposal and always schedule the next step. Author Judith Glaser said, “Conversations are the power that launches transformational products into the world.” Go out there are start those conversations. That first handshake, greeting, email and call can set the stage for a lifetime!

“We are off! And do we know it, not just because the world is yelling “Lift-off”
in our ears, but because the seats of our pants tell us so! Trust your instruments, not your body, the modern pilot is always told, but this beast is best felt.
Shake, rattle and roll!” – Michael Collins

Recognize each other — At every opportunity the astronauts recognized the efforts of their teammates back on earth. Acknowledge your team’s hard work. Fuel their continued work.

“I guess we all like to be recognized not for one piece of fireworks, but for the ledger of our daily work.” – Neil Armstrong

Just as Apollo 11 mission is an event that is stamped in our minds, so too is the legacy you’ll leave with your PURE business. Go the distance and make that difference.

You have the ability to do more than you can imagine!

Meet IBO Cozy Bixler

Cozy Bixler is a single mom of four children, ages 7-16. Since losing her late husband to cancer ten years ago, Cozy understands the importance of Whole Health for her family. She taught Pilates during the day and always prayed for a way to generate an extra income stream while also being available for her children.

In August 2018, Cozy enrolled with PURE’s 1500 pack and got busy sharing the products with others. She plugged in to the system offered by her upline, attended all PURE events, watched every training video, and consistently dialed into weekly training calls. Her diligence and hard work paid off. She earned the rank of Platinum Director in her first week, and the prestigious rank of Diamond in her fifth week!

Cozy loves every aspect of this business, and gets her family involved as well. She makes sure her children see both the health and financial benefits that PURE provides.

“The cleanse/balance/build/focus system through PURE has helped my family with focus issues, sleep issues and more,” said Cozy. “My favorite product is Organic Sulfur because of its amazing health benefits.”*

Cozy has earned several PURE Destinations trips, two of which her children attended with her. Along with these blessings, Cozy feels grateful for the new relationships she has made at PURE. She believes she could not have had the success she’s had without the help, guidance and encouragement from her team leaders and fellow IBOs.

Romans 12:12 “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”

Follow the Seven Cs to success!

Have you heard of the Seven Cs of Effective Writing? Be clear, coherent, concise, complete, consistent, correct and credible. As a writer, I live by this mantra because I communicate with a wide audience every day.

So why do I bring this up, and what do the Seven Cs have to do with direct selling? Well, as a writer in the direct selling industry, I believe that this same logic can be applied to business builders. In addition to having amazing leadership skills, PURE business builders can achieve success by implementing the seven Cs.

The Seven Cs of Business Building

  1. CLEAR – Being clear means being transparent. For anyone to have a healthy relationship, they need to be able to have others trust and confide in them. Know your ‘Why’ and make sure that what you say is consistent with that ‘Why’. If you truly want to help others, they will sense it and will follow you.
  2. COHERENT – Similar to “clear”, coherent means to be unified, or to create a culture of unity. The PURE family is anchored in a strong foundation. We deliver Whole Health through high-quality products, opportunity, relationships and philanthropy. Build upon that by finding and developing good people. Remember the acronym TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More.
  3. CONCISE – You must be concise in your messages. Communicating briefly yet comprehensively and professionally is highly important. Remember this in every text you send, phone calls you make, with every training meeting you conduct and in every conversation you have with a customer.
  4. COMPLETE – When we’re complete, we’re fulfilled. Fulfillment is something you can achieve with a successful PURE business. By helping others achieve their health and wellness goals, you can fulfill your own goals.
  5. CONSISTENT – It’s important to be consistent and persistent. To be a great leader, your followers must believe that you will not give up on them or on the goal you are working together to achieve. Schedule weekly meetings and stick to them. Consistency creates momentum and success!
  6. CORRECT – You hear it again and again, be a product of the product. If you don’t know your products because you aren’t using them or haven’t even tried them, you can’t share them confidently, or correctly. You certainly don’t want to share incorrect information. You don’t know have to know every answer but know where you can seek out answers. It is better to share the right answer than a quick answer that may be incorrect, which will lead to the next “C” of Credibility.
  7. CREDIBLE – Along with being correct, you want to be believable. People must know, like and trust you before they will do business with you. Sampling is the best way to help your prospects “try it out” and see for themselves what a product can do for them. Once they see the results, they’ll believe in you and the company. And, they’ll be a champion of your business once they see success!

So there you have it. If you can C it, you can do it!

Take these to heart and make 2019 your best year yet!

How “Active” are you?

You may be physically fit, but how fiscally fit are you? In other words, are you “active” in your business with PURE? We know that exercising is important for our overall health, but being an “active” Independent Business Owner (IBO) is just as important, if you want your business to grow.

What does it mean to be “active”?

Direct selling, like many industries, has its own vocabulary to describe its people, services and general operating procedures. Many direct selling companies use the terms “active” and “inactive” to describe the status of their independent distributors, and these terms may vary from company to company.

With your business with PURE, you are either an “active” or “inactive” IBO. “Active” IBOs personally promote sales through the generation of new customers and through servicing their existing customers. Having an “active” status means an IBO has 100PV* or more (either through personal product purchases or product sales to Retail and Preferred Customers or any combination thereof) every 28 days.

If an IBO temporarily or permanently stops working their business and does not have 100PV or more every 28 days, they are considered “inactive.”

At PURE, you must be an “active” IBO in order to become eligible to receive the PURE Enrollment Bonus, to qualify for the PURE Rank Bonus and to qualify for bonuses within the PURE Compensation Plan and other limited-time incentives.

For more information on the rewards, bonuses and incentives available to active IBOs, visit livepure.com/rewards.

*PV (Product Volume) is the amount of volume assigned to each product.

The importance of routine

Do you follow a daily routine? Perhaps you wake up at a set time every morning, eat breakfast, shower and drive to work or get the kids ready. You couldn’t imagine going about your day without some kind of schedule. Some people may be so used to their routine that they go with the flow, almost desensitized to the “how” and/or the “why”.

Then there are others who may think routines are boring, maybe unimaginative. They “wing it” day in and day out, without a schedule. Personally, this would make me stressed and overwhelmed. I would be afraid I may fall short of my goals.

In the direct selling industry, having a routine is important. It can help improve productivity and take business to the next level. When you follow a routine, you almost don’t have to think about it. Like showering, it will become … well … routine.

“I began to realize how simple life could be if one had a regular routine to follow with fixed hours and very little original thinking to do.” – Roald Dahl

Are you setting yourself up for success with a routine? Just as you take products by PURE at designated times during the day for optimal benefit, having a set schedule for business activities helps you achieve your long-term goals.

Route to routine. It’s important to schedule the activities at set times every day, otherwise you may forget to do them and are more apt to put them off. That’s when they fail to become habits.

  • Block time on your calendar each day for your PURE business
  • Check your email and VBO for PURE corporate updates
  • Call at least three prospects every day
  • Follow up with previous contacts
  • Educate yourself on the products and the opportunity – benefits, advantages, etc.
  • Check the events page on livepure.com and plan on attending corporate events and find meetings in your area.
  • Get a family member or friend involved to keep you accountable.
  • Step back every once in a while to evaluate what you’re doing. Is it working in your favor?
  • Celebrate your achievements.

Benefits of routine. You will benefit, in a big way!

  • Efficiency – You’ll know what to expect and what comes next.
  • Structure – You’ll establish a flow and it will feel comfortable.
  • Time – You will actually save time rather than run out of it because you’ll be more productive.
  • Habits – You will form good ones and break bad ones.
  • Proficiency – You will check off everything on your to-do list.
  • Momentum – You gain speed as you go about your daily tasks.

Take a good look at your day and see where you may be falling short. Where can you implement a routine?

What does your day look like? Share your secrets to success.

Recruiting, rank advancements and retention reach record levels

PURE announces outstanding growth in every key performance indicator for Q1.

“Our leaders have come together and are functioning as one cohesive team to drive our mission forward. It is truly wonderful to watch people having fun while changing lives,” stated Daren Hogge, PURE CEO.

Perhaps the most impressive statistic for PURE in the first quarter is the more than 930 rank advancements at Bronze Director and above. This represents a 260 percent increase in the U.S. market compared to the prior quarter.

“We have definitely seen an uptick in every key performance indicator during the first quarter of 2018, which is even more impressive based on the fact that we are coming off of a banner year in 2017,” said Greg Ezell, PURE Chief Financial Officer

“Although many companies are seeing growth internationally, we are one of the select few seeing exponential growth in the U.S. market. This growth is being fueled by our incredible leaders who are working together to share our products and industry-leading compensation plan,” said Daren Hogge.

The company has paid out an astounding $1,134,250.00 in Rank Advancement bonuses to date.

Jayson and Shellie Lavender – Our Story

Five months ago, my husband and I were introduced to PURE while attending a soccer tournament with our three children. Whitney and Jason Johns, our fantastic upline team, were passionate about the opportunity and told us we could earn shares while making extra money.

My husband Jayson is a teacher and high school football coach and I work full time as a dental hygienist. We are over-committed in every way imaginable. The opportunity sounded amazing; however, we weren’t sure what this all entailed nor did we even understand initially what we were doing. The products weren’t something that drew us to the opportunity. Everyone in our family of five was already supplementing with another brand.

By joining PURE, we thought that we could save money by consolidating all of our supplements. After weighing the pros and cons, and waiting four weeks too long, we decided to commit our time and money to starting a business with PURE.

Despite our busy schedule, we made a list with some achievable goals and got to work. I can say through this experience there have been so many positive changes we have encountered. We feel we are now supplementing our family with the best products around. It has helped us pay off debt, has given our kids the opportunity to participate in activities they would not have otherwise done, and we’ve been able to save and plan for future life events including college and retirement. And, we only work our PURE business part time.

Working a business together has also added a whole new level to our relationship of 16 years. We had no way of knowing what PURE was going to offer us and so many others. Our goal is to keep sharing the products and opportunity, help others achieve their goals, keep building a dynamic team, and keep our faith at the forefront of our business.
